This document describes the fundamentals of the PROFINET specifications for fiber-optic components. The corresponding requirements on the system or device development are derived from this. This document is intended to be a help for device (hardware and firmware) developers by enabling them to easily map the diagnostic data provided by a PROFINET-compliant transceiver to the corresponding PROFINET objects and alarms, etc.
